The Faculty of Education and Arts hosts the National School of Education, the National School of Arts, the LaSalle Academy and three vibrant, multidisciplinary research institutes: the Learning Sciences Institute of Australia, the Institute for Religion, Politics and Society, and the Institute for Social Justice.

 

The National School of Education Is the largest provider of Teacher Education in Australia with a national focus and infrastructure across seven campuses in five states. It has rich contextual knowledge of different jurisdictions and their varying requirement s and the capacity to deliver to talented, diverse and dispersed student cohorts through connectivity to educational partners and networks both nationally and internationally.

 

As Associate Professor, Teacher Professional Practice you will demonstrate evidence of:

  • strong contribution to the strategic development and support for  Faculty’s alignment with Teacher Education Ministerial Advisory Group (TEMAG) and the Faculty’s delivery of teacher formation and embedded work integrated learning
  • lead high-quality research and teaching and assessment in a dynamic intellectual environment within the academy and in partnership with key industry partners.
  • actively contribute to the leadership of the National School of Education Teacher Professional Practice discipline team
  • leadership and mentorship of early career academics
  • commitment to social justice, common good, and the dignity of the human person
  • commitment to team leadership and community capacity building.

 

To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:

  • a doctoral qualification in a relevant field of education;
  •  experience working with industry partners in educational settings,
  • a good track record of research achieved through high-quality publications and successful grant applications
  • a commitment to the Scholarship of Teaching with excellence in teaching in undergraduate, and postgraduate programs including higher degrees
  • a capacity to supervise higher degree students
  • commitment to social justice, common good, and the dignity of the human person
  • commitment to team leadership and community capacity building.

Total remuneration valued to $161,833-$178,148 pa, including salary component $137,159-$151,103 pa (Academic Level D), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
