University Lecturer In Logopedia With Special Emphasis On Linguistics / Phonetics

 

At the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology, the Department of Health and Rehabilitation, the unit for logopedia is the program of speech (240 ECTS credits) with 100 full-year students and postgraduate studies (on average about 7-8 doctoral students) and research in logopedia. There are 10 disserted teachers / researchers at the unit. Research focuses on communication disorders in adults and children.

Subject Description

Logopedia is defined as the teaching of language, voice, speech and swallowing disorders and their treatment. Logopedia as subject discipline describes and explains different forms of communication difficulties due to language, voice or speech disturbance, how they should be assessed and treated as well as their consequences for human personality, health and quality of life.

The employment includes teaching in phonetics and linguistics related to logopedia. This includes course responsibility and price development. Supervision of thesis work and other supervision can also be considered.

 

Competence

The eligibility for employment as a teacher is stated in Chapters 3 to 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and the University of Gothenburg's employability scheme for teachers. 



Qualifying to be employed as a university lecturer is the one who has obtained a doctorate in phonetics / linguistics and demonstrated educational skills.

 

Basis of assessment

 

Educational skills are primarily based on the assessment bases, then scientific and administrative skills. Essential attention will also be attached to the experience of teaching and supervision in phonetics / linguistics / logopediology. At the time of appointment, great importance will be attached to the graduation degree. 

 

Applicants who lack education education are expected to do so within two years from the start of employment.

 

Employment

 

The employment is a permanent employment with an extent of 40% with placement at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. Access as soon as agreed.
