ASSISTANT PROFESSOR / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, 2017-224-01502

 

At The Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Learning and Philosophy a position as Assistant professor (4 year period) or Associate Professor in Organisational Development with special focus on data driven Organisational Development in the private and/or public sector is open for appointment from 15 October 2017 or soon thereafter. Workplace is Aalborg.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION


Assistant Professorship (open for a 4 year period)



This job advert is directed at applicants who want to work with new aspects within the knowledge organisations of the future e.g. through co-creation, Capacity Building, user driven innovation, user involvement etc. Strong methodical competencies, also competencies within quantitative method and knowledge about organisational theory is important. Applicants should be prepared to contribute to completion of externally financed projects already as assistant professor. Furthermore, experience with cooperating internationally will be an advantage.

 

The position will research wise be affiliated to the research group Evaluation and Capacity Building which is a part of Center for Learning in Organisations (CLiO). We offer a good working environment and mutual respectful cooperation with focus on individual professional development but also with obligations to the research cooperations.

 

Teaching-wise the position will primarily be affiliated to our new bachelor in organisational learning and the master in organisational Capacity Building and co-creation (MOKS). Also, there might be teaching on other educations at the department and other departments if relevant.



The Faculty of Social Sciences wishes to ensure that assistant professorships provide career opportunities both within and outside of the university. For that reason, assistant professorships are formed in a manner ensuring that the competencies achieved in the position qualify for a career within research as well as a career in the private and/or public sector. Associate Professorship

Qualification requirements (Assistant Professor)



Applicants for the post of assistant professor must hold a PhD degree or academic qualifications at PhD level. In the selection of candidates, emphasis will be placed on research potential and pedagogical qualifications as well as experience with supervision and lectures.



Qualification requirements (Associate Professor)



It is presupposed that applicants for the position as associate professor have research qualifications corresponding to the level achieved from a successful employment period as an assistant professor/researcher, or achieved otherwise. The applicants must document scientific production at an international level. Furthermore, it is presupposed that the applicants have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and a positive written evaluation of their teaching qualifications. Moreover it will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite, that applicants have experience with Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is Aalborg University's teaching philosophy.

• List of publications that the applicant wishes to be considered. For the Assistant Professor a maximum of 5 publications may be submitted, and for the position as Associate Professor a maximum of 10 publications may be submitted.

Assessment 



An expert assessment committee will assess all candidates.



Shortlisting will be applied. This means that subsequent to the deadline for applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment committee will select candidates for assessment. All applicants will be informed whether they will be assessed or not. The selected applicants will be informed of the composition of the assessment committee, and each applicant will have the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that applies to the applicant in question. When the employment process has been terminated, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.

AGREEMENT

 

Appointment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science's Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Salary is in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State.
