At the Department of Culture and Global Studies, the Faculty of Humanities, there are 1 February 2018 or shortly afterwards a vacant position as lecturer in Danish media science. Workplace: Aalborg.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The main task of the post includes research and teaching in the areas of media analysis and media history, both in relation to Danish / Scandinavian media, their recent history of development and the social / cultural and identity of Danish / Scandinavian media in a global context.

 

The assessment will emphasize that the applicant has documented the ability at national and international level

  • Analyze popular media media products within a broad media field

  • Involve trans- and intermediate development with particular attention to facts and fiction

  • Develop theory in relation to analysis

 

Teaching, the position is primarily related to the bachelor and master's degree program at the Danish study.Teaching at other programs under the School of Culture and Global Studies or other faculty programs may be relevant. It is an advantage, but not a prerequisite if the applicant has experience with problem-based learning, which is the Aalborg University educational model. The new employee is expected to be included in the ongoing development of the Danish study and possibly. Other faculty subjects. Likewise, it is an advantage if the applicant has experience with cooperation with external partners.

 

On the human level, the lecturer is expected to have good cooperative skills and to be able to create and maintain good relations with researchers with different cultural and political backgrounds.

 

The new employee will be associated with the research group Interdisciplinary Culture Studies. In addition, there is the possibility of becoming a further research group of your choice. It is assumed daily attendance at the department. It is also assumed that the lecturer is prepared to participate actively in all aspects of the daily work at the department and the programs.

Lecturer



A lecturer's position is an indefinite position with a commitment to research and teaching. To some extent, other tasks may be established by the university.

 

It is assumed that applicants to the directorate have research qualifications equivalent to the level that can be obtained on the basis of a satisfactorily completed appointment period as an assistant professor, researcher or post.doc, but which may also be achieved otherwise. Applicants are required to have documented scientific production at international level. In addition, it is assumed that applicants have received supervision and pedagogical qualifications and have received a positive written assessment of their educational qualifications.

 

The application must contain the following:

  • CV
  • Full list of publications by different types (monograph, publication with several authors, journals, etc.).The attached publications that are considered to be taken into account in the assessment must be marked. There must be a maximum of 10 publications.
  • In the case of publications that are co-authors, a co-authors statement must be submitted about the applicant's share in the joint work. Co-authors' statements must be signed by at least one of the other authors Template

Assessment of candidates for the position is done by an expert assessment committee. Applicants can subsequently be called for a conversation and / or trial lecture.

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the application deadline, the head of department, with the assistance of the chairman of the assessment committee, will select the candidates to be assessed. All applicants will be informed as to whether or not they have gone on to review. The selected candidates will be informed of thecomposition of the assessment committee, and each candidate will be given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him / her. Once the recruitment process has been completed, a final rejection will be sent to candidates who are not considered for the post.
