FACULTY OF KINESIOLOGY



The Faculty of Kinesiology is seeking applicants with a record of or demonstrated potential for excellence in university teaching and research in the area of community development, community recreation, parks, or tourism for a full time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in our Recreation and Sport Studies undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates with an earned PhD in recreation, leisure studies or a related field are preferred, however ABD applicants will be considered. Duties will include developing a competitive and independent program of research, teaching core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervising graduate students completing their internship or research primarily within the MA in Sport and Recreation Studies, but also in the MBA in Recreation and Sport Management program. The candidate may be expected to teach in one or more of the following areas: Leisure, Recreation, and Sport Concepts; Recreation and Sport Programs and Events; Trends and Issues in Recreation and Sport; Community Health and Wellness.In the Fall of 2018, the Faculty will be moving to a new 60,000 ft2 building with 1550 ft2 dedicated to The Centre for Recreation and Sport in Society (CRSS).
