ASSISTANT PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR IN THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE



The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Helsinki ( http://www.helsinki.fi/hum/ ) is Finland's oldest and the largest teaching and research unit in the field of humanities and its discipline and discipline. It is also an important international research, education and cultural community.

ITALIAN LANGUAGE APULAISPROFESSORIA / PROFESSOR

 

The task can be filled by a professor or a permanent tenure track professor for the time being, based on the applicant's earnings and career stage.

 

A successful candidate is a broad-based expert in Italian language and culture. A modern Italian researcher is looking for a job whose research subjects or methods well complement the language study in the faculty. Special qualifications are considered to be qualified to study and teach other Romani languages as well.

 

The Faculty of Humanities studies and teaches languages and literature in Europe and the rest of the world. In addition, the general theory of linguistics, translation science, language technology and literary research is developed in different languages. The assignment is based on the subject of Italian Philology, which also has two other teaching assignments. To be elected, teach a Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's degree.

 

The assistant professor / professor is to pursue and guide scientific research, to provide teaching based on it and to monitor the development of science and to participate in social interaction and international co-operation. In addition, he must participate in doctoral education and the development of teaching and research funding.

 

A candidate for the post of assistant professor is required to have a doctorate degree, ability to work independently and the teaching skills required. In addition, publications and otherwise demonstrated ability and motivation for a scientific career are required.

 

The doctoral candidate is required to have a doctorate degree, a high level of scientific qualifications, an experience in scientific research management, the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and guidance, and evidence of international co-operation in research. In addition, the professorships need the skills to act as an academic leader.

 

When assessing the applicant's earnings, both scientific and educational merits are taken into account. Scientific publications and other research results of scientific value, success in obtaining external research funding, foreign scientific work and international positions of trust are considered as scientific merit. As a teaching qualification, the teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce learning material, other gains and, where appropriate, a sample of teaching activities, are taken into account, as well as the participation in doctoral education. In addition, the applicant's leadership and interaction skills and the activity of the scientific community are taken into account.

 

An Italian language professor / associate professor is required to have excellent Italian language skills. Successful management of the task also requires good English language skills. A candidate for teaching and research is required to master the language, Finnish or Swedish to which he teaches. He must also have at least satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish and Swedish. Foreign nationals or Finnish citizens who are not native or who have not received their education in Finnish or Swedish can be granted without a separate application for a derogation from this language proficiency requirement. However, he will be required to acquire sufficient Finnish / Swedish language skills. Support for language learning is provided.

 

The remuneration of the assignment is based on levels 7 (assistant professor) and 8-10 (professor) at the University of Welsh Education and Research staff. In addition, a payroll based on personal performance is paid.
