Responsibilities*

 

Duties: Teach Voice and Stage Dialects to BFA Performance majors. Voice Coach for Theatre & Drama Main Stage productions. Also teach a beginning-level acting class for non-majors. Participate in faculty governance, attend faculty and departmental meetings, serve on committees at both departmental and university levels as needed.

 

Required Qualifications*

 

Qualifications: Experience teaching a variety of vocal production techniques such as Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Berry, and Rodenberg. Specialized training in Voice, Acting, Text, Shakespeare, Speech, Dialects. A documented history of fruitful collaboration with co-workers and/or faculty members. Knowledge of the classical and current theatrical canon. A concrete vision for the acquisition of professional theatrical skills that closely aligns to the overall mission of the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD). MFA in Theatre or equivalent training/specialization in Voice, Acting, Text, Speech, and Dialects.
