ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP / ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP WITHIN ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING ORGANISATIONS

 

At The Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Learning and philosophy a position as Assistant Professor or Associate Professorship within organisational development and learning organisationsis open for appointment from 1 August 2018 or soon thereafter. The assistant professorship is af 4-year position and the associate professorship is without time limit.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION


Assistant Professorship (4 year period)

 

This job advert is directed at applicants who want to work with organisational development and implicate learning aspects. We emphasize knowledge of organisational theory and learning processes. Apart from researching and teaching the applicant should be ready to contribute to our team’s completion of externally funded projects.

 

Apart from above experience with international cooperation will be an advantage.

 

The position will research-wise be affiliated to the research group Evaluation and Capacity Building which is a part of Center for Learning in Organisations (CLiO). We offer a good working environment and mutual respectful cooperation with focus on individual professional development but also with obligations to the research cooperations.

 

Teaching-wise the position will be affiliated to all educations at the department. These are on both bachelor, master and professional master level. Also, there might be teaching on other educations at other departments if relevant.

 

The Faculty of Social Sciences wants that a position as assistant professor generates carreer opportunities both within and outside the university. Therefore, the position as assistant professor is created in such a way that the competencies achieved qualifiy for a carreer as a researcher in both the private and the public sector. At least a year before the position ends the assistant professor is offered an interview to clarify the further carreer path.

 

Associate Professorship

Qualification requirements - Assistant Professor


Applicants for the post of assistant professor must hold a PhD degree or academic qualifications at PhD level. In the selection of candidates, emphasis will be placed on research potential and pedagogical qualifications as well as experience with supervision and lectures.

 

Qualification requirements - Associate Professor


It is presupposed that applicants for the position as associate professor have research qualifications corresponding to the level achieved from a successful employment period as an assistant professor/researcher, or achieved otherwise. The applicants must document scientific production at an international level. Furthermore, it is presupposed that the applicants have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and a positive written evaluation of their teaching qualifications. Moreover it will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite, that applicants have experience with Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is Aalborg University's teaching philosophy.

• Motivated application, indicating if you ar applicant for the Associate or the Assistant Professorship
• Current CV.
• Complete list of publications.
• List of publications that the applicant wishes to be considered. A maximum of 10 publications may be submitted for the Associate Professorship and 5 publications for the assistant professorship
• Co-author statements in relation to publications written with other authors must be enclosed with a declaration from each of the authors, stating the extent of the applicant's contribution to the total work. The declaration must be signed by the co-authors. Link to Template.

Assessment


An expert assessment committee will assess all candidates.

 

Shortlisting will be applied. This means that subsequent to the deadline for applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment committee will select candidates for assessment. All applicants will be informed whether they will be assessed or not. The selected applicants will be informed of the composition of the assessment committee, and each applicant will have the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that applies to the applicant in question. When the employment process has been terminated, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.

AGREEMENT

 

Appointment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science's Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Salary is in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State.
