We are looking to appoint an outstanding and ambitious individual to join one of the most exciting and innovative universities in the country as the Associate Dean (Enterprise, Engagement and Partnership) for the University of Hertfordshire’s School of Education. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean will join a highly esteemed, dynamic learning community with a clear commitment to transforming lives through education withoutstanding,research informed learning and teaching, innovation and creativity and strong partnerships with students, across the education sector and beyond. 


This is an opportunity for a qualified teacher with Higher Education experience to join our friendly and student focusedSchool of Education in a senior role focusing on student engagement, providing leadership of the School’s work with UK and international partners and securing new international opportunities. Our Associate Dean (Enterprise, Engagement and Partnership) will work with the Dean as part of the Strategic Leadership Team and School Executive Group and will take a lead role in overseeing the work of the School, as well as supporting the portfolio of work of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business and International Development). The Associate Dean(Enterprise, Engagement and Partnership) will also teach on the School of Education’s doctoral programmes and support the development of the School’s research clusters and its REF submission.


We are looking for someone special with excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to lead and develop teams and individuals. Our Associate Dean(Enterprise, Engagement and Partnership) will have an excellent track record of teaching in schools and Higher Education and experience of supervision of student research. We are looking for someone who has worked with national and international organisationsand has successful experience of contract negotiation and has Qualified Teacher Status and a Doctorate.
