Brief Description


The Department of French and Francophone Studies is seeking to make an appointment at the rank of Lecturer to start in July 2018. The department offers a major with Honours in French and Francophone Literatures, as well as MA and PhD degrees by dissertation.

 

Requirements: Candidates should have a native or near-native ability in the French language, proficiency in English, and teaching experience in French as a foreign language and/or contemporary Francophone literature at university level. Candidates should further hold a PhD and have a publication record in fields related to French and Francophone Studies.



Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required to offer a wide-ranging curriculum across all years of study; implement communicative, student-centred methodologies to facilitate language acquisition; supervise postgraduate students; be research-active in areas related to the discipline; participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching; carry out administrative duties; and take part in the intellectual and public life of the School and University.
