According to the development plan of the University of Vienna, this professorship is assigned to the subject of communication: aesthetic and medial dimensions.

 

The applicants have excellent knowledge of the South Slavic literatures, with particular focus on Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian literatures and cultures in history and present. The knowledge of these literatures over all epochs as well as the current situation of the literary life in the South Slavic area, above all in Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia, is presupposed. In addition, they will be able to apply modern literary-theoretical and methodological concepts, which are necessary to research the literature from the fields mentioned.

 

The applicants have extensive knowledge of the area and cultural sciences of the South Slav region in the past and present. They are familiar with the contemporary methods of cultural-scientific research, especially with interdisciplinary approaches in the cultural sciences.

 

Proof of integration into international research is required.


Your profile:

  • Doctorate / PhD and Post-Doc experience at a university or other research institution
  • A specialized habilitation (venia docendi) or an internationally recognized equivalent qualification is required
  • Outstanding achievements in research, excellent publication activity, international reputation
  • Experience in the conception, acquisition and management of major research projects as well as willingness and ability to lead research groups
  • Enthusiasm for excellent teaching, university teacher training, as well as the ability and willingness to teach at all curricular levels (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate), supervise dissertation work and promote young academics

 

The University of Vienna expects that the applicant will acquire German language skills within three years, which will enable him to teach in Bachelor studies and to work in university committees. The University of Vienna expects the basic willingness to take on organizational responsibility at the level of the faculty or the university.
