Brief Description

The Wits School of Education is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate at Associate Lecturer/Lecturer level to contribute to the School’s initial teacher education and postgraduate programmes, as well as to its research activities in history education, with the ability to contribute to history of education.


Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria to be appointed:



A Master’s degree in an area related to the above specialisms;
Current registration for a PhD with specialization in history education or history of education
Experience in teaching history and/or history methodology at school/tertiary level
Ability to teach history of education will be an advantage



PhD in history or history of education
Evidence of research ability or potential (a publication record would be an advantage);
Experience in teaching history and/or history methodology at school/tertiary level
Ability to teach history of education will be an advantage


Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications and relevant experience.
