PhD fellow in English literature

100% fellowship in English literature. The position is linked to the faculty's doctoral program, specializing in literature science. More information:


The place of work is Campus Kristiansand. Appointment by appointment with the faculty. The employee must have a master's degree / major or equivalent in English with specialization in English-language literature, with very good results. The project will be linked to the English subject at the Faculty of Humanities and Education. It is a prerequisite that the faculty can provide guidance in the field. The project may be associated with the following research groups at the faculty: "Early Modern & Modern Research Group (EMMRG)", "Agder Irish Network (AINE)", "Trauma Fictions in Contemporary Culture" and "Translation and Intercultural Communication (TIC)."


Applicants will prepare a project description that will follow the application. The project description shall have a maximum of 5 pages excluding literature list and will present and discuss research questions, theoretic perspectives, material, progress plan and methods.


Further provisions for position as a fellow student are set out in the Regulations on employment conditions for posts as postdoctoral, fellow, academic assistant and special candidate, pursuant to the Law on Universities and Colleges, Section 6-4.


The position is a recruitment position and it requires the ability to work purposefully, tidy, concentrated and independent. When assessing the applicants, emphasis is placed on the obtained exam results, relevant academic background, any published work and documented development work, as well as the quality and relevance of the project description. Relevant practice, personal fitness and cooperation skills will also be emphasized. Current candidates will be invited for interview.

The position is placed in the National Wage Regulatory Wage Plan 17,515, code 1017, kr. 435,500 bto per year. From the salary, statutory deposits go to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
