The Department of Philosophy and the Department of Theology occupies the earliest possible date in the Department of Ancient World and Asian Cultures at the Institute for Languages and Cultures of the Middle East and East Asia


W1 junior professor for the state and society of China


in a temporary employment relationship for a period of three years. After positive evaluation, an extension to a total of six years is envisaged.


The tasks include the appropriate representation of the subject area in research and teaching, the participation in all study courses in which sinology is involved, the development of e-learning, and a commitment to the research activities of the Käte Hamburger Kolleg for Spiritual Science "Fate, freedom and prognosis. Coping strategies in East Asia and Europe "( www.ikgf.fau.de ). Very good knowledge of modern and pre-modern Chinese as well as a proven expertise in the investigation of the cultural area of China from a political and ideological perspective are required. The willingness to actively participate in larger research groups of the FAU is expected.


Prerequisites for postgraduate studies are a completed university degree, educational qualifications, special qualifications in scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding qualification of a doctorate. If, before or after the doctorate, an employment as a scientific employee or as a research assistant has taken place, the promotion and employment phase together should not have lasted more than six years.


The FAU expects participation in the academic self-administration, the commitment to the acquisition of third-party funds and a high presence at the university to the intensive care of the students.
