Job description

The University of Sussex wishes to appoint a Teaching Fellow to a 0.25 FTE fixed term appointment in Philosophy from February 1st to June 30th, 2018. This equates to 40 hrs. of teaching with associated preparation and assessments. The vacancy arises to cover for some of Dr. Corine Besson’s teaching while she embarks on the research project “The Foundations of Epistemic Normativity”, financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, Sweden.


The successful applicant will have relevant teaching experience and have completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy (or have completed at least 2 years of PhD study).


She/he will be demonstrably competent to deliver high-quality lectures and seminars on the second-year module: ‘Epistemology’.


The successful candidate will join a friendly, intellectually invigorating department, committed to dialogue across philosophical traditions. We seek a colleague who will contribute to the life of the department and the interaction with our highly engaged and intellectually able student community.
