University Teacher of English – business communication (Pori)


The University of Turku is a world-class multidisciplinary research university which offers interesting challenges and a unique vantage point to national and international research and education.

 

A University Teacher of English is required by the University of Turku Centre for Language and Communication Studies (Turku School of Economics, Pori Unit) on a permanent basis commencing 1.8.2018.

 

The position of University Teacher focuses on teaching Business English and communication. The duties of this post also include the planning and development of teaching as well as other tasks related to teaching, administration and development of the Centre for Language and Communication Studies.

 

The ideal candidate must have a Master's degree in a subject related to English language teaching, a high level of teaching ability and be able to both speak and write English to a native-speaker standard.

 

We are looking for a person with excellent skills in Business English and Communication and experience of university-level LSP teaching. They should also be experienced in teaching in a variety of learning environments and should feel at home with the use of educational technology. They should be ready and able to take an active part in the working community and in the development of the Centre for Language and Communication Studies. Interest in subject related research and knowledge of economics and commerce is desirable.

 

The salary is in accordance with the University salary system for teaching and research personnel levels 4−6 where the task-specific salary component is between 2 475,31 and 3 340,77 euros per month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The personal work performance component is a maximum of 46,3 % of the task specific salary component. During the employment period salary will be revised on performance basis.

 

There will be a trial period of 4 months.
