Position Summary :


The Department of Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a one-year Limited Term Appointment (LTA) faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2018, subject to budgetary approval.

 

Qualifications for the position include a PhD in Communication Studies or a cognate discipline and significant teaching experience. Applicants are expected to be active researchers with a record of publication in their subfield. Applicants should be able to position their research and teaching within one or both of the areas of global communication and/or communication history. A demonstrated understanding of the unique contexts of Canadian communication is an asset. Desirable teaching experience includes teaching classes of varying sizes, levels, and formats, e.g. large, introductory lecture-based courses, medium-sized classes, and small senior seminars. Ability to teach specialist courses in a subfield and also a generalist introduction to the discipline and core perspectives within it will be considered an asset. The workload for this position will consist of five courses and service in the department.
