Senior Research Associate in Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa

Applications are invited for a Senior Researcher to join the Endangered Archaeology research group in the School of Archaeology at the University of Oxford. The position is externally funded by Arcadia and the project is led by Dr Robert Bewley.

 

The post is a full-time appointment, for a fixed-term and is available from June 2018.

 

Applicants must have a PhD in archaeology or a closely related field, together with experience in the Middle East and North Africa. The Endangered Archaeology project examines the aerial photographs and satellite imagery of archaeological sites. The primary role of the Senior Researcher will be to oversee the day-to-day management of the project, reporting to the project Director, manage research associates and assistants and be part of the project's management committee. The postholder will be required to undertake their own research, under the EAMENA umbrella, produce and assist others with publications, attend conferences and travel in the region.
