The Department of Film & Media has developed an exciting new summer certificate program entitled Film & Media: Industries and Professions. This certificate is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in film and media. The curriculum exposes students to industry structures that govern a broad range of media professions, fields, and practices.
The Department of Film and Media seeks a Lecturer to teach a six-week summer certificate course on Film and Media Professions. The class is in session Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s from 12:00pm- 2:00pm starting July 2, 2018 through August 10, 2018.
This course is designed to acquaint students with a variety of film and media professions, in and around the Bay Area, that are open to those wishing to pursue careers in film and media. A series of guest lecturers/lecturer teams drawn from these professions will guide students through the opportunities and work experiences available in such fields as studio and independent film production, documentary production for film and television, film curating and archiving, programming film festivals, creating media content for art museums, and designing educational online content.

Salary: Commensurate with college teaching experience, in accordance with the current unit 18 lecturer salary scale and its provisions. The starting, 100% full-time (6-course) annual gross salary rate is currently $53,402, prorated for this course at 11%.
