Lecturer in Digital Education University of Leeds, School of Education United Kingdom

Lecturer in Digital Education

Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and research in Digital Education? Do you have an excellent research record and proven success in obtaining funding? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

As Lecturer you will carry out research, teaching and management within the school, faculty and university and contribute to academic leadership in the field of Digital Education. You will be part of the Teaching and Learning academic group which is nationally and internationally recognised for its range of teaching and research, and a key member of the Centre for Research in Digital Learning.

As education practitioners, we have a wide range of experience of teaching and teacher education in many contexts in the UK and around the world, and as researchers, we have a broad range of expertise across the discipline and beyond.

This position in digital education will focus on fundamental research questions currently facing the UK and international HE sector, such as: How is knowledge and critical understanding developed by learners using digital technologies? What are the factors that afford and constrain the adoption of digital technologies for learning by teachers and students? How might teaching practices change to maximise learning in a digital environment? What are the unforeseen and unintended consequences of widespread use of digital technology in education? How might the nature of universities and schools change and develop as a result of digital technology?

Working closely with Professor Morris and colleagues in the School of Education, the University’s Digital Education Service and across the University, you will have a doctorate in the field of Education or a related discipline and you will have a track record of research outputs of internationally excellent quality and a proven record of high-quality teaching in a University environment.
