DESCRIPTION The Department of Languages and Applied Linguistics (https://language.ucsc.edu) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach Yiddish language courses.
Applicants with expertise and/or a graduate degree in applied linguistics are strongly encouraged to apply.
The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties, and who have experience teaching the targeted language both as a second language and as a heritage language. Candidates are expected to have native or near-native proficiency in Yiddish and they are expected to have extensive training in language pedagogy.
