Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate strong teaching and research interests in interdisciplinary and/or comparative approaches to Swedish Literature and Culture. The department is dedicated to the advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We seek candidates for this position who demonstrate a commitment to advancing these central values of our department and campus. Candidates should show strong potential for mentorship and course design that are attuned to the interests and needs of our first-generation students and/or students of color. The successful appointee will teach in English at the undergraduate and graduate levels, will mentor and supervise our graduate and undergraduate students, and will be a conscientious community member of the department, participating in program development, departmental meetings and events. The appointee will also be expected to maintain an active program of research and publication, and to show promise of superior intellectual achievement in both teaching and research. Native or near-native competence in English and in Swedish languages. Expertise in Swedish Literature and Culture. Strong ability for successful teaching and student advising. Research and administrative service commensurable with years of experience. Potential for successful attraction of and mentoring of new students.
