Assistant Professor in International Tourism and Leisure Management

 

The Department of Design and Communication at the University of Southern Denmark in Kolding invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in International Tourism and Leisure Management. The position is available from 1 February 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants will have competencies and skills that match the teaching and research portfolio of the Centre for Tourism, Innovation and Culture (TIC) in particular, and tourism higher education at the Department of Communication and Design at large. For more information about TIC, see http://www.sdu.dk/Tic. Applicants should have an academic background in tourism, or closely related fields. Applicants should demonstrate competencies in collaborative or participatory design in tourism education and research. 

The Department of Design and Communication encompasses Design, International Business Communication, Informations Studies, Library Science, Web Communication, and Tourism at the Faculty of Humanities (www.sdu.dk/idk) 

We deliver tourism education at the highest international levels, notably the Erasmus Mundus programme, the European Master in Tourism Management (www.emtmmaster.net). You will contribute to postgraduate teaching and engage in innovative teaching and research activities. Applicants must be at the assistant professor level and committed to a culture of academic excellence and collaboration. 

Prior teaching experience in tourism at the master of science/arts level is expected. Knowledge of the Danish language is preferable.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2019

To qualify for the position as assistant professor you must have completed a PhD-degree by the time of employment.

     Complete list of publications, indicating which publications are most relevant for the position Up to 3 of the most relevant publications. Please attach one pdf-file for each publication.
      For any publication with a co-author, a co-author statement must be submitted as part of the pdf-file

Application must be in English and all appendices must be in Danish, English or one of the Scandinavian languages. Please always include a copy of original diploma/certificates. 

We only accept files in pdf-format no more than 10 MB per file. In case you have more than one file per field you need to combine the pdf-files into a single file, as each field handles only one file. We do not accept zip-files, jpg or other image files. All pdf-files must be unlocked and allow binding and may not be password protected.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.

If the application does not meet the requirements mentioned above, the Faculty of Humanities may reject your application without further notice. Applications received after the deadline will neither be considered nor evaluated.

Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process. If the assessment committee decides to use shortlisting, the applicants who are not shortlisted will not receive an assessment.
