Assistant Professor of Cinematic Arts (University of Southern California)

The USC’s School of Cinematic Arts Summer Program is seeking applicants for an adjunct faculty position at the Adjunct Assistant Professor level to teach Production Courses, covering such topics as the fundamentals of cinematic directing, producing, editing, and cinematography. This position is for the SCA Summer Program starting in June 2025. USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the Dean. Qualified candidates must be a working professional with strong experience working as a director, producer, editor, or cinematographer for short and feature-length films and/or television series. Candidates should be currently engaged in the entertainment industry and possess first-hand knowledge as a director, producer, editor, or cinematographer on shorts, features, and/or television series. Demonstrated skills in directing, producing, editing, and cinematography is critical. Previous teaching experience is preferred.
