Assistant Professor of Clinical in Higher Education Leadership & Admin
University of Miami
United States

The University of Miami (UM) is considered among the top tier institutions of higher education in the U.S. for its academic excellence, superior medical care, and cutting-edge research. At the U, we are committed to attracting a talented workforce to support our common purpose of transforming lives through teaching, research, and service. Through our values of Diversity, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Compassion, Creativity and Teamwork (DIRECCT) we strive to create an environment where everyone contributes in making UM a great place to work. We are one of the largest private employers in Miami-Dade County; home to more than 13,400 faculty and staff from all over the world.

The University of Miami invites applications for a clinical assistant professor, non-tenure track full-time faculty position in the Higher Education Leadership and Administration programs, beginning August 15, 2019. The Higher Education Program in the School of Education & Human Development’s Department of Educational and Psychological Studies is based in enrollment management and was the first of its kind in the nation. In addition to the Executive Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership, we offer a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration via three innovative tracks: Enrollment Management; Student Life & Development; and Institutional Research & Policy Analysis. Our program focuses on preparing reflective, data-driven decision makers, practitioners with a strong theory-to-practice orientation, applied researchers, and leaders of colleges, universities and related educational organizations.

We seek candidates with both scholarly interests and practical experience in higher education administration, particularly institutional research and its essential role in organizational effectiveness, including meeting the institution’s mission and values and supporting strategic enrollment management; strong teaching credentials, including developing and teaching online courses; and a solid foundation in the conduct of research, analysis, interpretation and reporting of data and other information used to assess institutional effectiveness, student success, and strategic planning. The successful applicant is expected to assume a primary role in the newest addition to our highly successful Master of Science in Education program, the Institutional Research & Policy Analysis (IR&PA) track, devising and teaching its core class in institutional research and helping to advance overall curriculum development. We also expect the clinical assistant professor to help recruit promising students from around the world to the IR&PA track, and to coordinate the Higher Education Program’s annual assessments, overseeing submission of data related to accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
