Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Research, Measurement and EvaluationDepartment of Educational and Psychological Studies, SEHD University of Miami The Department of Educational and Psychological Studies in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Miami is actively seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in the dynamic intersection of human-computer interaction, user-centered design, human-AI collaboration, and modern computational and statistical modeling. This position is particularly well-suited for an innovative researcher who brings conceptual depth and applied insight to designing and evaluating intelligent systems, emotion-aware technologies, and digital learning environments. We are especially interested in candidates who design and study adaptive and emotionally intelligent systems, develop novel experimental methodologies, and lead interdisciplinary research with clear societal relevance. This position will be filled based on finding the best available candidate with the greatest potential for continuing long-term research, scholarship in the field of measurement and educational statistics and its intersection of human-computer interaction, user-centered design, and human-AI collaboration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in advancing innovative, user-centered research at the intersection of human-computer interaction, human-AI collaboration, and computational modeling. They should show evidence of mentoring undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students through inclusive, design-oriented, and interdisciplinary approaches. In addition to scholarly excellence, the candidate is expected to teach in both in-person and online formats, with the ability to make complex concepts in user experience research, experimental design, and computational methods accessible and engaging across diverse learner populations. Strong communication, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and translational presentation skills are essential.
