Post SummaryIn 2025, the Department of French at Trinity College Dublin secured a government-funded contract to deliver a Postgraduate Diploma in French for Secondary School Teachers. This two-year programme responds to a recognised national need for a greater number of well-prepared post-primary French teachers and addresses the underrepresentation of French at secondary level. The Diploma was successfully launched in Michaelmas Term 2025, with contributions from across the Department. The Department now seeks to appoint a full-time Assistant Professor in French to coordinate and deliver the programme over its initial three-year cycle.
