The Department of English and Modern Languages at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a Bipartite (teaching/service) Tenure Track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in the area of Pre-Twentieth-Century English. This position is dependent on budgetary approval. The Appointment is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2020.

The successful candidate must have the versatility to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the area of English, particularly upper-level courses in English literature prior to the twentieth century. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate scholarship and teaching experience in the literature of more than one century and/or literary era. Candidates will also be expected to teach first-year academic writing and literature and second-year literature courses.



A PhD in English Literature is required.

Successful candidates are expected also to have a strong record of teaching at the post-secondary level. Candidates who are shortlisted for interviews will be asked to provide teaching evaluations and official transcripts.
