Position description

The UC Davis School of Education (SOE) invites applications for the position of Associate Program Chair of Educational Leadership in the Capital Area North Doctorate in Educational Leadership (CANDEL) Program. General responsibilities of academic administrators at UC Davis include the administration/management of programs, professional competence, and university and public service.

The Associate Program Chair of Educational Leadership is an academic administrator responsible for the day-to-day administration and leadership of the CANDEL program. The associate chair is responsible for implementing practices and procedures developed by the CANDEL faculty chair, and the faculty of CANDEL, in consultation with the dean, associate dean, department chair, and SOE faculty at large. Specific responsibilities include administering the CANDEL budget, overseeing hiring and personnel reviews of CANDEL lecturers, representing the program on university and system-wide committees, serving on CANDEL committees, working with the CANDEL chair to develop teaching schedules, participating in the onboarding of faculty, collecting and managing data on the CANDEL program, serving as a graduate advisor, and managing the admissions process. The Associate Program Chair of Educational Leadership will also collaborate with faculty to conduct research on CANDEL, and serve on student dissertation committees.
