Chair (W2) of Health and Nursing / Vocational Didactics



The chair contributes significantly to the qualification of teachers at vocational schools in the

professional field of health and care. In this respect, the chair supports the development of those

skills that exist at the crossroads between specialised academic, educational academic and

vocational didactic expertise. For this task, we are looking for a candidate who will represent the

subject area independently and forward-looking, while supplementing the field with a clear

research profile of her or his own in the field of vocational didactics. Fields of activity include

cooperation with the Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB), the

promotion of early-career scientists, participation in the conceptual development of the degree

programme and the continuation of existing networking with vocational schools in health and care

professions. The duties include participation in academic selfadministration.


We are looking for a dedicated individual, who is distinguished through successful research work

and a clear commitment to teacher education at vocational schools. Applicants are expected to

have a university degree in vocational education in the fields of health and/or care, relevant

experience in research, practice and teaching, as well as proven knowledge of vocational and

educational policy issues in the health and care professions in Germany. Applicants should also

have experience in the successful acquisition and implementation of third-party funding projects.

We would like to point out that teaching must be conducted in German.


Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the

Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
