CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

Position: The University of Illinois Department of Speech and Hearing Science (SHS) (http://shs.illinois.edu) is seeking to recruit an outstanding speech-language pathologist for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position as a Clinical Assistant Professor, with opportunity for advancement.

Proposed Starting Date: August 16, 2020.

 

Responsibilities:  Provide clinical supervision to students in the M.A. Speech-Language Pathology program, develop a clinical caseload of direct service while supporting clinical instruction; develop new educational programs for multilingual/multicultural populations that infuse cultural linguistic diversity into teaching, clinical research, outreach, and community engagement; and contribute to departmental service. 

 

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a terminal degree for clinical practice in Speech-Language Pathology, have certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and be eligible for an Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license. A minimum of 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) clinical experience is preferred, as well as previous experience with clinical supervision/instruction of graduate students and eligibility for an Illinois Professional Educator License (the license to provide clinical services in the public schools). Individuals with demonstrated interests in cultural linguistic diversity, bilingualism, multilingualism, English language learning, or procedures for least biased/alternative assessment and intervention are encouraged to apply.

 

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
