Tenure Track Position in Early Childhood StudiesFCS, Sch Early Childhood StdysDeadline to Apply: Saturday, January 30, 2021 Tenure Track Position in Early Childhood Studies Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada, and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the School of Early Childhood Studies in the Faculty of Community Services at Ryerson University welcomes applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2021, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, scholarly research and/or creative activity, and service duties, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. These duties will include pursuing a strong, innovative research program and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including the supervision of students, and participation in curriculum development for the School. Candidates must hold a doctorate at the time of application; candidates who are all-but-dissertation (ABD) and are able to demonstrate that they are close to completion may also be considered. The candidate should have a focus on Black studies. In addition, candidates shall present evidence of the following:

School of Early Childhood Studies The School of Early Childhood Studies (ECS) is the oldest school of its kind in Canada, led by 18 tenure-stream faculty from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. The school encompasses multiple perspectives in the study of childhood, in areas such as early education and care, learning, health, families, communities, society and policy. The school offers a 4-year B.A., a consecutive B.A./B.Ed. (with York University), and an M.A. in Early Childhood Studies to approximately 900 students in total. The School of ECS includes a laboratory school, the Early Learning Centre, and an EarlyOn program and an Every Child Belongs program connected to the school’s Gerrard Resource Centre.
