Full-Time, Teaching-Track Position in the Japanese Language

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, invites applications for a full-time teaching-track lecturer position in the Japanese language beginning in the fall of 2023. 

The department provides students with a well-rounded education on East Asia by focusing on the study of the languages, literatures, and cultures of China, Japan and Korea at both the graduate (Ph.D.) and undergraduate (B.A.) level. Applicants must have an M.A. or Ph.D. in language pedagogy, second language acquisition, linguistics, or related fields, and possess native or near-native fluency in both Japanese and English. Evidence of dynamic and effective language teaching is essential. Candidates with ACTFL OPI Testing Certification are desirable. Salary and benefits are competitive.  The successful candidate may serve as the director of Japanese language program a few years into the position. Leadership and curriculum development experience are welcome.
