The Roles


There are currently several full-time, continuing positions available within the School and appointments will be made at Levels B-D, depending on position and commensurate with qualifications, experience and academic achievements. These positions are in the following fields of study: (a) Guidance, Counselling and Careers, (b) Supporting Diverse Learners (Special Education) and (c) Educational Leadership.


Applicants will be expected to teach in the School’s postgraduate program in the appropriate field of study and in the Initial Teacher Education programs (primary and/or secondary) in areas relevant to their expertise. The successful appointee(s) will have the capacity to pursue a strong and productive program of research relevant to the School’s existing and emerging research priorities, to supervise research students, and to undertake service and leadership roles commensurate with their level of appointment.

The Person

Applicants should possess a PhD in Education, with an area of concentration matching the position. Applicants should have a national or international research reputation with strong networks to leverage and assist in developing a world class program of research with demonstrated impact. They should work in/lead research teams, attract significant external funding, and work collaboratively across discipline boundaries. Applicants should be an experienced and engaging teacher and have mastery of current pedagogy in education.

What We Can Offer

These are full-time, continuing positions at Academic level B, C or D.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the ranges:

Level B (Lecturer): $95,771 to $113,728 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation

Level C (Senior Lecturer): $117,319 to $135,276 plus up to 17% superannuation

Level D (Associate Professor): $141,262 to $155,628 plus up to 17% superannuation
