About the Position:

Carleton University’s School of Linguistics and Language Studies invites applications for a one-year term positions in Spanish Language (SPAN) instruction at the level of Instructor I, commencing July 1, 2019.

 

About the Academic Unit:

The School’s Spanish program is housed in a unit representing a rich diversity of perspectives on language, with degree programs in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies, as well as courses, minors or certificates in ASL, Arabic, Mandarin, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, and Communication Courses for Disciplines and Professions and English as a Second Language. Qualifications:

Applicants should have native or native-like fluency in Spanish, an M.A. or equivalent in Applied Linguistics with a specialization in second or foreign language teaching, and a professional commitment to a career in teaching Spanish as a foreign language at the university level. Duties will include teaching intensive and semi-intensive introductory credit courses in Spanish and advanced courses in Spanish, as well as participating in the on-going development of curriculum and of teaching and testing materials. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Spanish to a culturally diverse student body.
