The University of Alberta’s St. John’s Campus solicits applications for a teaching position in education. In the course of his duties, the person selected will be called upon to give undergraduate and graduate education courses. Courses are mainly taught in face-to-face from the St. John's Campus (Edmonton), but the mode of delivery can also be co-modal or online depending on the needs of the programme. The versatility in teaching and the ability to teach a wide range of courses will be an asset. The candidate will teach up to eight (8) courses per year in education according to the assignments of the Vice-Dean.
Responsibilities Under the authority of the Deputy Chief Dead, the person selected for this post will have the following tasks: Education Providing education to undergraduate and graduate students Ability to teach the following courses in French: EDU F 237: Challenges to equity and diversity in schools EDU M 346: 2nd cycle of primary education EDU M 332: Theory of language learning and an integrated approach EDU P 342: Apprenticeship evaluation EDU M 341. Information and communication technology EDU M 452: Teaching French in secondary education EDU M 453: Literature education in secondary education EDU M 414. Education in social studies in primary schools
Develop the content of the courses assigned and be responsible for the design of these courses, the teaching methodology Ensuring reasonable availability for student consultation during and outside school hours Contribute to the content of orientation activities for new students Participate in scholarly education by remaining up-to-date and competent in terms of the content and design of the course assigned and the performance of the instructor
Engaging in administrative tasks related to education Attend guidance, faculty meetings, course-related meetings and other educational activities Transmit the syllabus of the course to the administration within the prescribed time frame Submit a report to the Deputy Chief Dead Men at the end of the six-month period Other clearly defined educational activities, as appropriate, assigned and agreed upon at the time of appointment or subsequent annual subpoenas Contribute to the content of orientation activities for new students Profile sought Preferably, or have completed a master's degree in education. Strong experience in post-secondary education can be improved after evaluation Demonstrate practical teaching experience at the junior or graduate level; an excellent educational record is required Have solid pedagogical and technological knowledge for online, face-to-face, co-modal (face-to-face and online students) and hybrid (reverse pedagogy) Dedicate to student engagement and success Demonstrate initiative and leadership Have an excellent level of written and oral French, and a very good level of English to understand the agreements, policies and procedures of the University of Alberta Have an excellent team spirit and collaboration Have experience in coaching, coaching, student monitoring Have a good understanding of the language learning context in a minority environment Application form A cover letter confirming (1) your interest, (2) your qualifications, and a certificate that you are ready and able to teach courses in the areas indicated Up-to-date CV Education kit that includes a philosophy of education

Working for Campus Saint-Jean The Campus Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta is inviting applications for a position as an instructor in education. In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate education courses. Versatility in teaching and the ability to teach a wide range of courses will be an asset. The candidate will teach up to eight (8) courses per year in psychology based on the assignments from the Vice-Dean.

Desired Profile Preferably possessed a Ph.D. in Education, or at least have completed a Master's degree. Extensive experience in postsecondary teaching may be considered as a substitute, subject to evaluation
Demonstrate concrete teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level; an excellent teaching record is required Have strong pedagogical and technological knowledge for online, in-person, co-modal (in-person and online students), and hybrid (flipped classroom) teaching
Be dedicated to student engagement and success Demonstrate initiative and leadership Possess an excellent level of written and spoken French, and a very good level of English to understand agreements, policies, and procedures at the University of Alberta Have an excellent team spirit and collaboration skills Have experience in student supervision, mentoring, and mentoring Have a good understanding of the linguistic learning context in a minority environment
