Position description

The Department of Literature within the Division of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego (https://literature.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body, and invites applications whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment.

Appointments will most likely be part-time, but may be full-time, from one quarter up to one year in duration.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on UC pay scale.

Authorization to work in the US must be provided at the start of the appointment (Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1985).

For this Transition Year only, we will be using AP Recruit to review current/internal appointees and also collect applicants. This process was created to streamline efforts these efforts as the campus transitions to the new process for Unit 18 Lectures.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must demonstrate excellent teaching qualifications in the above detailed areas, and experience managing diverse classrooms.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. or MFA in Creative Writing by the time of appointment, and to have demonstrated outstanding teaching experience in the following genres/areas: Fiction, Poetry, and Writing for Performance

Preferred qualifications

Preferred candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in an academic setting.
