Position description

The Department of Linguistics at the University of California at Davis invites applications for a temporary teaching position in Linguistics for the 2022-23 academic year. Availability of this position depends upon final administrative approval and the teaching needs of the department. The Department seeks applicants with demonstrated research and teaching expertise. A completed Ph.D. degree in Linguistics or related field is required.

The candidate should have a strong background in general linguistics, and also bilingualism (whether from a social or cognitive perspective), including translation studies and language contact. He/she should be able to teach upper division courses in the areas of expertise. Experience working with teaching assistants is preferred. Practical knowledge of Canvas, a class management system, is a plus

Appointments will be on a quarter by quarter basis depending on need. Compensation is commensurate with ability and experience.
