About the PositionUniversity College Cork (UCC) wishes to appoint an academic to the position of Lecturer (Below the Bar) in English Literature, reporting to the Head of the School of English and Digital Humanities. In addition to lecturing and conducting research in English Literature (1700–1830), the successful candidate will be expected to teach in an area of Critical Theory, Cultural Theory, or Literary Theory, which is an essential requirement of the post. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in English Literature focusing on the period 1700–1830 and will demonstrate excellence in teaching and research in the long eighteenth century and in theoretical approaches to literature and culture.
