Description

The Department of Art and Art History at the University of California Davis, invites applications for a lecturer position in Art Studio to teach 2 classes Winter quarter 2021; ART 101, INTERMEDIATE PAINTING (TR 1-4pm) AND ART 290B, GRADUATE CRITIQUE SEMINAR (T 5-8pm), Monday, JANUARY 4, 2020 - Friday, MARCH 19, 2020.

Selected lecturers are invited to design their syllabi to integrate technical instruction with conceptual and historical content that takes advantage of their strengths, interests and background. Qualified applicants will have an MFA, teaching experience beyond the TA level, a contemporary professional art practice, and expertise in the field of painting. The candidate should be prepared to offer alternative online instruction if necessary due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.

This is a non-tenured, temporary position: the appointments to the title of Lecturer are self-terminating (no further notice on non-reappointment will be forthcoming) and do not create an obligation on the part of the University either to extend or renew the appointment outlined above. Any reappointment will be preceded by an assessment.

Proof of citizenship or eligibility for US employment required prior to employment (Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986).

This position is subject to UC policy and is covered by a collective bargaining unit.
