Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 492637), to commence on September 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.


Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature or related areas and 5 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at tertiary level. They should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and demonstrate evidence of administrative experience in higher education settings. The ability to contribute significant breadth and depth to the MACLL curriculum would be a definite advantage. The appointee is expected to teach M.A. as well as B.A. courses and to supervise dissertations. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
