Duties and responsibilities
  • Teaching at all levels of higher education, using modern teaching methods and educational technology. Lecturer of Estonian teaches courses of language planning and academic Estonian.
  • Supervising students at the first and second level of higher education. The tasks of a lecturer are also to create study materials, to participate in activities related to development of teaching, and popularisation of his/her specialisation.
  • Lecturer is expected to develop his/her teaching and supervising skills and skills necessary for RDC activities.
  • Teaching and teaching related activities make 40–65% of working time [344–559 work-hours (average) in a year].
  • Participation in RDC activities under the supervision of a professor, associate professor or senior research fellow.
  • Research in five years at least in the volume equivalent to that of 1/3 of a doctoral thesis.
  • Participation in the work of the university’s decision-making bodies is recommended.

Required experience
  • The candidate must have the ability to teach at the first two levels of higher education, incl. to supervise students of the first and second level of higher education.
  • Earlier teaching experience in an institution of higher education is expected. Experience in supervising students and teaching e-courses is recommended. 
  • Knowledge of modern study aids, learning environments, learning methods and their development opportunities is required.
  • Professional research, the volume of which is equivalent to that of at least one doctoral thesis, is expected.
Required language skills
Excellent command of Estonian, English skills sufficient for professional communication.

Salary is negotiable, minimum 700 euros (gross) per month, remuneration based on UT Salary Rules.
