Limited Term Appointment:Instructor, Spanish & Latin American Studies

 


The Dalhousie University Department of Spanish & Latin American Studiesseeks applications for a ten-month 50%limited term appointment (August 1-May 31) at the Instructor level in Spanish & Latin American Studies effective August 1, 2019. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The Instructor willteachcourses intranslation,advanced Spanish language, and Latin American Studies. The workload is equivalent totwofull-credit (fourhalf-credit) classes during the ten-monthperiod.


Applicants preferably should have a Ph.D. in Spanish,and a background intranslation. Applicants with an MA degree will be considered on anindividual basis as well. Native or native-equivalent command of Spanish and English, as well as expertisein teaching the Spanish language at the under graduate level, are required. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and administrative skills. Candidates should provide anup-to-date curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and philosophy, evidenceof teaching effectiveness, and the Self-Identification Questionnaire, which is available at www.dal.ca/becounted/selfid.
