Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a. (pro rated: £12,894 - £15,843 p.a.) 

 

The Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics of the University of Oxford invites applications for a fixed-term part-time Departmental Lecturer in Syntax from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2022. The appointment is to cover the flexible working arrangement of a postholder who will be retiring at that point. 

The postholder is expected primarily to lecture and teach undergraduate and graduate students in Syntax and will have the opportunity to conduct some independent research. The postholder will also be expected to engage in examination assessment, admissions processes, and Faculty administration, specifically coordinating Prelims Paper X. 

 

The Faculty is looking to appoint a specialist in Syntax. The successful applicant will hold a doctorate in Linguistics with a research specialisation in syntax and will be expected to teach syntax and general linguistics to both undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of formats. They will have a record of, or demonstrable potential for, internationally excellent academic research.
