Fulltime position, Start-date: 01.10.2019

Candidates are expected to participate in research, teaching and adminstration and to gain further academic qualifications. Non-German speakers are expected to learn German (after a transitional English-speaking period) in a way that allows easy participation in these fields.

Both PhD and postdoc candidates can apply. The minimal requirement is an M.A. in Classics/Latin or a comparable degree.

The teaching load is 4 contact hours a week (6 contact hours after a successful ‘Habilitation’).

The following research interests are particulary appreciated (but not necessarily needed):

Digital humanities

Literary theory, esp. narrative theory

Neo-Latin studies

If candidates prefer, they can start also later, at the beginning of summer semester 2020.

The position is fixed-term for 3 years, with the option of a 3-years extension upon positive evaluation. The salary will be determined in accordance with TV-L E13 or (as a civil servant) A13.
