The University of Alberta’s St. John’s Campus solicits applications for a teaching position in education to teach at the bachelor’s degree in education.
The candidate sought in a generalist profile, ideally specializing in literacy and/or school inclusion (diversity and equity, indigenous education, learning disabilities). His knowledge of the French-speaking minority context and French immersion as well as his experience of the school environment may enable him to teach introductory courses in teaching (planning, evaluation, design of teaching materials related to the curriculum), class management courses, basic courses of learning as well as courses on educational contexts and professional ethics.
Educational responsibilities
Under the authority of the Deputy Chief Dead, the person selected for this post will have the following tasks:
Education
Providing education to undergraduate and graduate students Develop the content of the courses assigned and be responsible for the design of these courses, the teaching methodology Ensuring reasonable availability for student consultation during and outside school hours Contribute to the content of orientation activities for new students Participate in scholarly education by remaining up-to-date and competent in terms of the content and design of the course assigned and the performance of the instructor Engaging in administrative tasks related to education Attend guidance, faculty meetings, course-related meetings and other educational activities Transmit the syllabus of the course to the administration within the prescribed time frame Submit a report to the Deputy Chief Dead Men at the end of the six-month period Other clearly defined educational activities, as appropriate, assigned and agreed upon at the time of appointment or subsequent annual subpoenas Contribute to the content of orientation activities for new students Ability to teach the following courses in French:
Education burden
The selected person will be required to teach 8 courses of 3 credits, divided between the autumn and winter semesters, depending on the needs of the programme and from the proposed list of courses:

EDU M 341 - Information and communication technologies
EDU M 345 - Literature in pre-school and lower primary education
EDU M 346 - Literature in the second cycle of primary
EDU M 332 - Theory of language learning and an integrated approach
EDUC M 362 - Didactic English at the secondary level
EDU M 453 - Literature education in secondary education
EDU M 414 - Education in social studies in primary education
Profile sought
Preferably, or have completed a master's degree in education. Strong experience in post-secondary education can be improved after evaluation Demonstrate practical teaching experience at the junior or graduate level; an excellent educational record is required Have solid pedagogical and technological knowledge for online, face-to-face, co-modal (face-to-face and online students) and hybrid (reverse pedagogy) Dedicate to student engagement and success Demonstrate initiative and leadership Have an excellent level of written and oral French, and a very good level of English to understand the agreements, policies and procedures of the University of Alberta. Have an excellent team spirit and collaboration Have experience in coaching, coaching, student monitoring Have a good understanding of the context of language learning in a minority environment.

The Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta invites applications for a part-time teaching professor position in education to teach at the undergraduate level in education.
The ideal candidate will have a generalist profile, with, ideally, a specialization in literacy and/or school inclusion (diversity and equity, Indigenous education, learning disabilities). Their knowledge of the minority Francophone context and French immersion, as well as their experience in the school environment, will enable them to teach exploratory courses in teaching (planning, assessment, design of educational materials related to the curriculum), classroom management courses, foundation of learning courses, and courses on educational contexts and professional ethics.
Teaching Responsibilities
Under the authority of the Senior Associate Dean, the person selected for this position will have the tasks following:
Teaching
Provide instruction to undergraduate and graduate students Develop the content of assigned ège and be responsible for the design of these courses, including teaching methodology Ensure reasonable availability for student consultation during and outside of class hours Contribute to the content of new student orientation activities Participate in scholarly teaching by staying current and competent in course content and design and instructor performance Engage in administrative tasks related to teaching Waiting for orientations, faculty meetings, race-related meetings, and other teaching-related activities Submit the course syllabus to the administration within the prescribed deadlines Submit a report to the Senior Associate Dean at the end of the semester Other clearly defined teaching activities, as applicable, assigned and agreed at the time of appointment or subsequent occasion assignments Contribute to the content of new student orientation activities Ability to teach the following courses in French
Teaching Load
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching eight-credit courses, between distributed the fall and winter semesters, according to program needs and selected from the list of available courses.

Desired Profile
Preferably possessed a Ph.D. in Education, or at least have completed a Master's degree. Significant experience in postsecondary teaching may compensatory, subject to evaluation. Demonstrate concrete teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level; an excellent teaching record is required. Have strong pedagogical and technological knowledge for online, in-person, co-modal (in-person and online students), and hybrid (flipped classroom) teaching. Be dedicated to student engagement and success. Demonstrate initiative and leadership. Possess an excellent level of written and spoken French, and a very good level of English to understand agreements, policies, and procedures at the University of Alberta. Have excellent team spirit and collaboration skills. Have experience in student supervision, mentoring, and tuning. Have a good understanding of the linguistic learning context in a minority environment.
