The Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for the
following tenure-track faculty position.

The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Education is located on the unceded ancestral
territories of the Algonquin people in the heart of the nation's capital. With more than

Health professions education: We are looking for a dynamic bilingual professor with an
innovative research program focused on enhancing our existing strength in teaching and research
in health profession education. Research and teaching in HPE examine ways to advance teaching,
curriculum development, and assessment amongst health profession educators, including ways to
contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion in relational, caring, and empathetic ways. HPE
competencies in antiracism(s) and/or anti-oppressive education are in high demand in the sector.
The selected candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching at graduate and undergraduate
levels and will contribute to advancing knowledge in evolving local, provincial, national, and
international health profession contexts aligned with our 2025 strategic priorities.

Duties: The duties of a bilingual professor include in varying proportions: a) teaching activities in the
Anglophone and Francophone sectors in health professions education, b) scholarly activities manifested
by research, literary or artistic creations, or professional activities; (c) activities related to service to the
university community; and d) graduate student supervision.

Terms: Tenure-track position (Assistant Professor)

Wage: Salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $ 86,986
Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete benefits package which includes long
term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa Pension
Plan and optional life insurance, as well as relocation expenses.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Ph.D. in Education or equivalent in a field related to the position.

Work experience: A demonstrated record of excellence in research in a field-related to the
position. A demonstrated track record in teaching and training at the undergraduate and graduate
levels in the context of interdisciplinary collaboration, ability to teach hybrid and on-line courses.
French-English bilingualism is mandatory for the position.
