Research Assistant 
Department of Early Childhood Education

The appointee will be responsible for conducting literature review, data collection including liaising
with schools and teachers and administering questionnaires to participants, performing statistical data
analysis, preparing presentations, reports and manuscripts, and performing other duties assigned by
the project investigator(s). He/she is also required to supervise part-time research assistants and
student helpers. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months with the possibility of renewal
subject to mutual agreement.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Statistics, or a related discipline,
preferably with at least 1 year’s post-qualification research experience. Applicants should have an
excellent knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis, a good command of written and spoken
English and Chinese, a good knowledge in computer applications (e.g. Excel, Access, Chinese work
processing), and strong administrative skills in project coordination. The appointee should have
strong commitment to excellence in research, adept at multi-tasking, and be able to work
independently and as a team. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in
collecting fieldwork data from local primary and/or secondary schools.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end
