to occupy at least 65% of the regular weekly working time (currently 25.87 weekly hours) for a period of 3 years.

 

The position is located in a third-party funded project, which is jointly carried out by the Universities of Göttingen and Münster. The literary research project explores the early modern, primarily in Latin language written travel instructions or travel treatises (Artes apodemicae), which have been used to prepare academic educational trips and cavalier tours.

 

The position advertised here (at the Göttingen site) is used to create an analytical monograph, which can be submitted after completion of the project as a dissertation in the field of Latin philology of the Middle Ages and modern times.

 

The prerequisite for this is a higher than average successful completion of a scientific degree in one of the following courses: Latin philology of the Middle Ages (and modern times) or Latin / Latin philology or medieval and renaissance studies (in the latter case with a recognizable minor subject) the post-antique Latin). It also requires in-depth knowledge of early modern history.

 

Applicants may also apply if they have not yet completed their studies but have completed their studies in good time before their appointment.
