(Senior) Hotel Management Lecturer

with specialisation

in Revenue& Asset Management and/or Business Intelligence


We are looking for an experienced, internationally orientated, and hands-on Hotel Manager with specialisation in Revenue & Asset Management or a Senior Executive Revenue & Asset / Business Intelligence, with an ambition to convey their passion for the hotel industry to students, both in a professional and teaching capacity. They will endorse the importance of good education and be driven to take ownership of the position as higher education lecturer. To students, they represent a source of inspiration and a role model; to colleagues a valued team player, providing a contribution to the education of the future generation of hotel managers from their wealth of personal experience.


The tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Teaching revenue & asset management, business intelligence and strategic hotel management within the entirety of the programme, especially within the Hotel Management Track where in close coordination with the track coordinator, theory is translated into practice and passion for the profession is conveyed.

  • Supervising and visiting interns both domestically and internationally, as well as the acquisition of internships.

  • Guiding and coaching students, with regards to their future careers.

  • Acquiring and supervising hotel-related project assignments as part of the students' graduation portfolio.

  • Upholding the quality of the Hotel Management curriculum and assessment programme in collaboration with minor and module coordinators.

  • Further expansion of the international HMSM network in close coordination with alumni and partners.



Candidates are expected to have:

  • An extensive experience in managing renowned hotels, preferably in different countries as general manager or member of the management team of a cluster or region of hotels including working experience with digital technologies, e-marketing, data management, and digital communications


a solid professional background in the fields of revenue, distribution & asset management or business intelligence

  • in possession of a Master's degree (preferably in economics)

  • up-to-date working knowledge of the latest developments within the international hospitality industry

  • a good command of English, both written and spoken, competence in Dutch is preferable

  • a good intercultural understanding and a 'global mindset'

  • team mentality and an ability to enthuse and inspire students and colleagues

  • an affinity towards education and developing the talents of young people

  • an empathic character and genuine interest in others

  • a didactic certificate or a willingness to acquire one.

  • The function can vary from 0.6 FTE to possibly 1.0 FTE, depending on your availability.

  • The terms of employment are in accordance with the collective labour agreement (CAO) in higher vocational education sector within the career prospects of at most scale 11 (with a maximum

4,892.31 gross per month when appointed full-time) or scale 12 with a maximum of € 5,564,23 gross per month when appointed full-time.

  • Initially for a period of one year at Zuyd University or via payrolling (Randstad Employability). Should the candidate prove suitable and perform favorably, then the contract may be extended, provided operating circumstances remain unchanged.
